Ayy bro it’s been over a year since the last update. I would love to see how things are going and what’s changed etc etc. I’m sure your busier than ever taking on a business like this, but please try to sneak some content in for us thanks.
The whole problem with the upper control arms having to be short enough to camber gain in corners without being so short that if screws you during squat/lift is why I love the simplicity of de-dion and/or plain beam axle, particularly on the rear. Never have I seen a rear-independent geometry that could do better than slight negative camber during cornering at the rear at the outside, with less than 2-deg static negative camber, and even on those the inside is quite literally on the edge of the tire. That's to say nothing about what happens during acceleration. Meanwhile, De-Dion and beam axles always keep the tires square (disregarding deformation) no matter what, and particularly, the average contact patch size between sides is greater than the combined contact patch side of a corner optimized independent that isn't straight garbage in a straight line. The front is a bit of a different story given that Caster and KPI give you additional camber gains, not to mention the packaging and steering geo issues that a front beam axle has (let alone a driven front beam axle), but even then, if you solve a couple issues, you could still theoretically see several gains from the consistent geometry of a beam axle.

Crazy informative video!! Thanks for this. At 15:57, there's a hose pipe that seems to be hanging loose disconnected right behind the brown ground wires. Do you know where it attaches? The top part attaches to a hard steel line which goes into the intake manifold. But the bottom part is a mystery. This hose is also loose on mine and causing errors.

I'm in the market for one of these in Australia so it's encouraging to see that a 200k engine looks so good in the bores. As long as the owners carry out regular servicing there is no reason that these motors can last a long time. It looks like the only Achilles heel is the cam adjusters and wear on the cam lobes and buckets. Adding something like a LiquiMoly anti friction oil sounds like a good option. Great video man. Thank you.
